I would first like to wish all of my customers, colleagues, and friends a happy and creative new year.
The Bay Potters exhibition last November in the Hawkshead Beer Hall, Staveley, was a great success, and the Group will be looking to repeat it this year.
Work on the Coniston Mural is still in the planning stage, and the intention is to work with some pupils at the John Ruskin school in Coniston.
The evening classes have re-started, and I'm now running two groups, one on Wednesday evening and one on Thursday evening.

The Tarn Hows Mural Project is now well underway. It consists of a series of tiles depicting the leaves of local tree, and it will be sited at the new visitor centre at Tarn Hows. Selected pupils at the John Ruskin School in Coniston have created the tiles, and these are now awaiting glazing. The opening will be held on Wednesday May 21st at 1.00 at the Tarn Hows car park.
Another project with children has been undertaken at Witherslack where a ceramic time-capsule has been designed and made by local children. The designs on the outside are based on local themes. The burying event is being scheduled.
Bay Potters have started planning their events for 2008, and the first one will be an exhibition at Farfield Mill during July with a private viewing on Friday July 4th. More information later.
As well as the above projects and my own ceramic work, I have been teaching Art at Cumbria University in Carlisle.

The Silverdale and Arnside Art Trail held over the weekend of June 28 was a great success, despite the terrible weather on the Friday night, with lots of people visiting my pottery and good sales.
The focus since then has been the Bay Potters Exhibition at Farfield Mill near Sedbergh. This will run from July 5 - July 31 and as well as Bay Potters ceramicists, it will include paintings and prints by Tracy Levine who has recently had a successful weekend at Printfest 2008 in Ulverston. There will be a preview on Friday evening July 4, 18.30 - 20.00.
The Friday night Preview of the Bay
Potters Exhibition at Farfield Mill was very
successful, with lots of people and
positive comments. The exhibition runs
until July 31, and a member of Bay
Potters
will be in attendance each weekend.

Hugh and I had a memorable trekking holiday in Northern India and the foothills of the Himalayas. Inspired by the colour and pattern in the traditional clothes of the village people and by the stories that evolved around them, I created a series of collage drawings which can be seen in the gallery.
Green Door Open Studio weekend: A lovely sunny weekend, lots of friendly faces, many familiar, and some new acquaintances. Thank you to all who came, it's always a pleasure to share my enthusiasm with other ‘potaholics’.
Coming up soon Bay Potters Christmas Exhibition: preview/party night Friday 21st November at Organico, Wilfs Yard, Staveley.
